The one-day Activity Emergency First Aid course is perfect for those who act as an appointed emergency first aider at work or in voluntary and community activities in an activity setting, or for personal interest and development. No previous experience is required, so you can begin your first aid training whenever you need to!

The Activity Emergency First Aid covers a wide range of adult and paediatric emergency first aid situations in an activity setting.

Pre-requisites

The candidate must be 14 years of age or older and be able to kneel on the floor for 2 minutes.

The qualification is assessed as set out below:

Continual assessment by the Tutor;
Completion of the Final Multiple-Choice Exam Paper.

Course Information

Topics Covered – On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:
• Legal, Health & Safety.
• First Aid & casualty management.
• Assess & treat an unconscious casualty.
• Basic life support including use of an AED.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; provide appropriate first aid for
minor Injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).• Administer first aid to a casualty suffering from various conditions including fainting, hyperventiining.co.uklation, shock, allergies, anaphylaxis & seizures
