The one-day Adult and Paediatric Emergency First Aid course is perfect for those who act as an appointed emergency first aider at work or in voluntary and community activities where adults and children are present, or for personal interest and development. No previous experience is required, so you can begin your first aid training whenever you need to!
The Adult and Paediatric Emergency First Aid qualification contains the content covered within both STA Emergency First Aid at Work and STA Emergency Paediatric First Aid courses covering a wide range of adult and paediatric workplace emergency first aid situations.

Aim
STA Level 3 Award in Adult and Paediatric Emergency First Aid aims to provide learners with the knowledge and practical competences required to be able to deal with a range of adult and paediatric workplace emergency first aid situations.
Pre-requisites
The candidate must be 14 years of age or older & must be able to perform practical
demonstrations on the floor.

Assessment – The qualification is assessed as set out below:
• Continual assessment by the Tutor;
• Completion of the Final Multiple-Choice Exam Paper.
Course Information
Topics Covered – On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:
• Legal, Health & Safety.
• First Aid & casualty management.
• Assess & treat an unconscious casualty.
• Basic life support including use of an AED.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; provide appropriate first aid for
minor Injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).
