The three-day Adult and Paediatric First Aid course is perfect for those who act as an appointed first aider at work or in voluntary and community activities where adults and children are present, or for personal interest and development. No previous experience is required, so you can begin your first aid training whenever you need to!
The Adult and Paediatric First Aid qualification contains the content covered within both STA First Aid at Work and STA Paediatric First Aid courses covering a wide range of adult and paediatric workplace emergency first aid situations, as well as a range of specific injuries and illnesses.

STA Level 3 Award in Adult and Paediatric First Aid aims to provide learners with the knowledge and practical competences required to be able to deal with a range of adult and paediatric workplace emergency first aid situations as well as a range of specific injuries or illnesses.
Pre-requisites
The candidate must be 14 years of age or older & must be able to perform practical
demonstrations on the floor.

Assessment – The qualification is assessed as set out below:
• Continual assessment by the Tutor;
• Completion of the Final Multiple-Choice Exam Paper.
Course Information
Topics Covered – On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:
• Legal, Health & Safety.
• First Aid & casualty management.
• Assess & treat an unconscious casualty.
• Basic life support including use of an AED.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; provide appropriate first aid for
minor Injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from conditions such as fainting,
hyperventilation, shock, seizures, asthma, diabetes, heart attack, angina, meningitis, sepsis,
stroke, TIA, poisoning, hypothermia, heat stroke & dehydration
• Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from head and spinal injuries.
• Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from chest injuries.
• Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from bone, muscle or joint injuries.
• Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from facial injuries.
• Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from allergies & anaphylaxis.
